Review Serbian printmagazine "The Vault", by  Bosko Radisic

"This is the first real metal band I'm meeting that is consisted entirely of girls. The band fomation is: Kesselem sisters, Katja, Birgit and Daniela (handling guitar, bass and vocal duties) and Gudrun Schlich on drums. After the first listen, they had me confused 'cause I didn't know how to classify their music. Girls claim they play power metal, but luckily this doesn't mean the standard definition of this style, which is, thanks to it's popularity, poluted with loads of garbage. Still, their music balances on the wave lenghts between power and thrash metal, coming very close on moments (vocaly) to the territories At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity once supremely reigned.

The entire disc is well done, considering the fact it is self released, with a booklet contaning lyrics and all the aditional information. The cover represents a very interesting design gained by putting one photo over another of the abandoned rail station, with some interesting colors that augmentate the grim impression.

The material contains seven songs and clocks around 27 minutes and in that time there really is a lot to hear. From the beginning of the first song "Painted Black" 'til the final tacts of "Dark Side" it is clear that this material is well produced, thanks to Ricolf Cross. Perhaps it's just a bad habit made by listening to many melodic bands, but it seems to me like "Painted Black" starts a bit to sudden and a bit to strong. After that, everything comes to it's own place and songs pass like the images, of which each is a real colage of different rhythms and tempo shifts, drawing it all through the raw power. Kesselem sisters adn miss Schlich do the music part mainly well, but I would advise them either to find a vocal solist or Birgit should upgrade her singing. I say this because to many times it looks as the color of the voice is inproperly chosen, since it's mostly growling.

I would like to take a separate view at the two best songs: "None Of Us" and "Empty". The first one is a composition with an Rage-like intro, opening for the part that resembles Psychoparadox, and imagine how does it sound done by ladies. I didn't mean no disrispect, just that women can provide soffistication man are incapable to deliver. "Empty" is a right example of everything I wrote before. Excellent melody lines with the guitar sound like May Result at it's best, leading towards a part of Nightwish quality. Combine all of these elements and you will get a picture what this German band represents, and that ain't "no sissy stuff".

Though this disc leaves plenty of space for improvement, for a debut it's more than good. With a little vocal and arrangement improvement, everything would be great. This definitely isn't the album for a single listen. It's supposed to be listened to at least a couple of times, so that all of the qualities would come to surface."
